A wintry storm that hit part of the Southeast region prevented North Carolina football coach Larry Fedora from attending the 51st annual Nike Coy Gulf Coast Coaching Clinic on Wednesday at the Beau Rivage.
Fedora, a former Southern Miss coach, was scheduled to speak Wednesday night, but was snowed in. Fedora phoned clinic Director Lindy Callahan earlier in the day to inform him he couldn't make the trip.
Pearl River Community College coach William Jones spoke at the clinic Wednesday.
The clinic continues today when Clemson coach Dabo Swiney, whose team is coming off an Orange Bowl victory, will be among the featured speakers.
Brandon High School coach Brad Peterson will start the speakers' schedule at 8 a.m. today.
Callahan, a former Gulfport coach, said he expects Missouri coach Gary Pinkel and Georgia coach to both attend the clinic's final day Friday.
