My two cents
How about, Biloxi Badgers, the mean little buggers; or my second choice would be The Fighting Marlins?
Life will be better after I switch from full time employment to part time, after I pay higher premiums and higher deductibles for health insurance. Who are they kidding?
Cars of yesteryear
I think that the cars of yesteryear were better. Why? Because they were simple and had more style and class. Like the big Cadillacs or the Plymouth Barracuda. Those cars in that time period were great.
Words to live by
"When the power of love; overcomes the love of power; the world will know peace" -- Jimi Hendrix
Distinctiveness will never go out of style but money and science took over the looks of our cars. The high price of gas insures that our cars are all designed in a computer with the science using a wind tunnel, so they all look alike.
The Schooners. The boat that made Biloxi. A draft of beer. An iconic restaurant. The tri-fecta.
I think the suggestions of team names for the impending minor league are all very good. I have a problem of every name tagged with "Biloxi." I thought the idea of the whole thing was to bring people to the Coast for vacation and or weekends, so why not name them "Gulf Coast Flyers," "Gulf Coast Stingrays," "Gulf Coast Tarpons" or whatever and let the entire Coast reap from the amenity not just "Biloxi"? It seems that when anything comes up it's always Biloxi this, Biloxi that, why not Gulf Coast to serve everyone on the Coast not just one area.
To the good right-wing radical who stated minimum wage earners contribute little to the value of the final product, except for hamburgers. I would like to say when you are traveling and stay over night in you hotel chain, you expect to have a clean room, beds made up nicely -- that does not contribute to the final product of that hotel chain? Or when you go food shopping at the local store, you like to have the shelves stocked, a clean store, that does not contribute to the value of final product? I am sure the store would not last long. My friend, these jobs and more are mostly done by low-wage earners, and yes, when they go shopping they pay that same high price, and besides I like a good hamburger. I would like to know what your line of work is that you can look down on these folks, or how many times your government check has a cost of living increase.
