USM still receiving votes in both polls

The Southern Miss basketball team continues to fly under the radar in the national polls despite having its best start since turning Division I in 1972.

USM did receive a slight bump in the AP Top 25, receiving six points after earning a single point in the two weeks prior. The six points are good enough to put the Golden Eagles tied at 31st overall with George Washington in the AP poll.

Southern Miss held steady in the USA Today Coaches poll with a total of 25 points to come in at 29th overall, the same position as last week.

USM is 21-3 and 8-1 in Conference USA as it prepares to travel to UAB (14-9, 3-6) at 8 p.m. on Thursday.
