BILOXI -- Four Florida men are in custody after they attempted to use counterfeit credit cards and fake identification to steal thousands of dollars, authorities said.
Ricardo Martinez, 34, Pedro Moreno-Perez, 28, William Lienz-Machado, 30, and Jose Lopez-Arca, 37, were arrested Friday after they tried to obtain cash advances at the Hard Rock Casino, Detective Steve Schlicht said.
Schlicht said the men fled the casino in a vehicle after it took too long for the validation process to provide them with the cash advance at the teller counter.
Biloxi police stopped them without incident as they were headed north on Interstate 110, Schlicht said.
Schlicht said several false IDs, counterfeit credit cards and $7,000 in cash were found in their possession.
Schlicht said investigators determined the men had previously obtained cash from the casino using the same method.
The men were charged with felony false pretense and were held at the Harrison County jail in lieu of $100,000 bond set by Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain.
Schlicht said the investigation is continuing and asks anyone with information to contact police at 392-0641, Criminal Investigations Division at 435-6112 or Crime Stoppers at 1-877-787-5898.
