Rooted in history
The name for the baseball team needs to identify with Biloxi history, so it should be called the Biloxi Schooners.
A name for the baseball team? How about the Biloxi Beavers? Because for them to live here, they tell us the trees have to come down. Oh, gnaw!
I've been reading all the names for our future baseball team. Some are quite creative but what about the Biloxi Breeze? The ball park will be located across the street from the Gulf and everyone will feel that beautiful summertime Gulf breeze as they attend games there.
I think the new Biloxi baseball team name should be the Biloxi Blues. Most locals would know what color to wear to the game.
I have been reading people's suggestions on naming our baseball team. Seeing that our area was discovered by royalty and was once called the Riviera of the South I thought it befitting to name the team the Riviera Royals, which has a connection with our past.
Observe the signs
Diamondhead drivers, please observe the signs. When you are turning right onto I-10 westbound, please observe the yield sign. This means you must yield to the traffic turning left onto I-10 from the south.
Only in America
Only in America could the rich people -- who pay 86 percent of all income taxes -- be accused of not paying their "fair share" by people who don't pay any income taxes at all.
Renée Fleming, who sang our national anthem on Super Bowl Sunday, is an international opera singer. Her voice is natural beauty, a result of talent, vocal training, study and practice. To those unfamiliar with opera, I suggest you step into that world of horizons of music; the stories of love, hate, joy, jealousy, sacrifice and heartbreak, all performed in song and acting. I've had that experience singing with the New Orleans Opera chorus many nostalgic years ago. Now I enjoy opera with DVDs and CDs.
Show some class
After reading comments about all the Coast supporting the ballpark, why would it be named Biloxi whatever? I am guessing it would be beneficial to the whole Coast and state. I am aware it will be built on property donated by the Beau Rivage in Biloxi. Biloxi cannot be the lone supporter. The name should represent Mississippi. I read someone mentioning, "Show a little class." Use the example from the hopeful theme park name, Mississippi Sound. Even if the park never becomes a reality, the name is classy.
