Over and over I see that Mississippi is last in this or that. But then Mississippi is rated highest in being seriously religious, the highest in charity and the most friendly.
This alone should tell you Mississippians are the most satisfied people.
But folks are told how they are missing out on what they didn't know they could or should be getting, owed to them and for free. How other people really feel about them, how dumb they really are, how fat they really are, how their eating habits and promiscuity is reflecting on society as a whole and how embarrassing they are to America.
Yet Mississippians are the most charitable and the most religious.
Why? We are who we are. Evidently there is something connecting us, even after all the gossip of hate, racism, poverty and hicks.
We read stories now and again about someone doing something heroic and we give great and due applause. But when those heroic acts are done every day their shine becomes dulled and are recognized as something expected, which is wonderful, but not shown the regard warranted.
So I applaud Mississippi for being the most seriously religious, the most charitable and most friendly state in these United States of America.
