Report: Oak Grove receiver commits to USM

Posted by PATRICK MAGEE on February 4, 2014

Oak Grove receiver Jordan Mitchell verbally committed to Southern Miss Tuesday night, GoldenEaglePride.com reports.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Mitchell was injured early in the season, but played a major role in the Warriors' trek to a Class 6A state title in 2013.

Mitchell was by far the most physically gifted receiver in the Oak Grove offense.

Despite missing nearly half the season with an injury, Mitchell had 54 catches for 1,013 yards and nine touchdowns in 2013.

Mitchell will join fellow Oak Grove player Picasso Nelson, who will play defensive back at USM.
