USM draws closer to ranking in USA Today Coaches Poll

The Southern Miss men's basketball team received 25 points in the USA Today Coaches Poll on Monday, a significant increase over the six from the week prior.

The 25 points are good enough to put USM at 29th overall in the coaches poll.

USM's support in the Associated Press Top 25 remained the same from last week with just a single vote.

Southern Miss is 19-3 and 6-1 in Conference USA, sitting in a first place tie with UTEP.

The Golden Eagles host Marshall at 8:30 p.m. on Friday in its next C-USA contest.

Memphis (58), Connecticut (47) and Virginia Commonwealth (26) are the the teams receiving votes ahead of USM.
