Itawamba Community College cornerback Darius White has verbally committed to the University of California.

White originally planned to sign with Kansas State, but was a class short of eliglibility. The Golden Bears gave him a chance and White accepted.

"That was my first time in California," White told Goldenbearreport.com. "My first time. Man, I loved everything we did, everything we did I had never done it before, never seen it before, it was all good."

"I went out there, and just decided there's no need to visit any more schools. This feels like home, The family atmosphere, the weather, the town, the campus, the history, I just loved it all. And the education, that was the icing on the cake."

White, ranked as the nation's top-ranked cornerback by JCgridiron.com,  had 53 tackles, six interceptions, and 10 passes break-ups this season.
