Southern Miss pulled away in the second half for a 75-60 victory at Old Dominion Thursday night to improve to 17-3 and 4-1 in Conference USA.

Neil Watson set a career high with 28 points to lead the Golden Eagles to the win. He was joined by Jerrold Brooks (18) and Michael Craig (11) in double digits.

Watson hit six-of-10 field goals, including six-of-seven 3-pointers. He also hit all 10 of his free throws to set the USM record for most consecutive free throws made at 39, breaking Jeremy Wise's old mark of 38.

As if his night wasn't big enough already, Watson also cleared 1,000 points in his career at USM, becoming the 36th player in school history to do so.

Southern Miss is currently in first place, but could be joined by a handful of teams by the time Thursday night is over with.

Daveon Boardingham led USM with eight rebounds. Craig didn't have a huge statistical night, but he had a nice line of 11 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Aaron Bacote had 19 points for Old Dominion, which drops to 9-10 and 3-1 in league play.
