Mississippi State offers Louisville QB a chance to walk-on

Louisville quarterback Wyatt Roberts is considering an opportunity to walk-on at Mississippi State.

Roberts originally committed to Jacksonville State (Ala.), but the Gamecocks' coach interviewed for the vacant opening at Alabama-Birmingham.

MSU coaches are giving Roberts a shot as preferred walk-on.  He wants to major in Engineering and is strongly looking at the option.

They had a good talk with me about options," Roberts told Bulldogblitz.com. "They want me to come up there as a preferred walk on and honestly I don't know much about that. Coach Hughes is coming by to talk more about details next week."

"The coach at Jacksonville interviewed with UAB today so that's starting to make me consider something else. The coaches shot it straight with me which I really appreciate. They said that they have Dak and a couple of more quarterbacks are signed so they can't give scholarships up anymore this year. They let me know that it would be a great challenge. It's something I'll look into."

Roberts started the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Game and led Louisville to the Class 4A state title.
