The Southern Miss basketball team received 15 votes in Monday's USA Today Coaches Poll, marking the first time it has earned votes this season.

The 15 votes are good enough to put the Eagles at 31st overall in the poll.

Southern Miss is 13-2 and coming off an impressive 66-49 victory over Drexel on Friday.

The last time the Southern Miss basketball team was ranked was during the 1990-91 season. USM finished the year ranked 25th, but climbed as high as No. 9 during the season.

Southern Miss begins Conference USA play when it travels to North Texas at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
