Report: USM hires former FAU O-line coach

Posted by PATRICK MAGEE on December 27, 2013

Southern Miss has hired Luke Meadows from Florida Atlantic as its new offensive line coach, the Sun-Sentinel reports.

Meadows replaces Pete Perot, who was let go by USM head coach Todd Monken late in the 2013 season.

Meadows worked the last two seasons at Florida Atlantic after previously serving as an assistant at South Dakota State from 2002-20011.

The FAU offensive front handled the USM defense with ease this season in a 41-7 victory in Hattiesburg on Nov. 16. The Owls rushed for 333 yards in the game.

The USM offensive line has suffered from poor play over the last two seasons - a big reason the Golden Eagles have gone 1-23 in that stretch.
