East Mississippi CC D-lineman chooses Alabama

Posted by JAMES JONES on December 4, 2013

East Mississippi Community College defensive tackle Jarran Reed verbally committed to play at Alabama on Wednesday.

Reed signed with Florida last year, but wasn't eligible because he didn't have enough hours. He stayed at EMCC, who plays Georgia Military for the NJCAA national title on Sunday at Biloxi Stadium.

"I felt like Alabama was the best place for me," Reed told Tidesports.com. "I can become a better person and player. Everything stands out to me about their program, the football aspect and the academics, the graduation rate. It's an elite program. I want to be the best I can be. I want to play with the best."
