Moss Point posts opening for football coach

Posted by PATRICK MAGEE on December 2, 2013

The Moss Point School District has posted a job opening on its web site for its high school football coach and athletic director.

Ed East served as football coach at Moss Point High School this past season on a one-year interim basis. He replaced former coach/athletic director Kevin Jackson, who left to become the head coach at East Marion High School.

The posting came as no surprise to East, who said that the job was going to come open no matter what happened during the 2013 season.

East said Monday that he is still in discussions with Moss Point administration and that he will be be able to comment on the matter at a later date.

Moss Point went 2-9 this past season and earned a spot in the playoffs thanks to a 27-7 victory over Bay High in the regular season's final game.
