Thomas Collins headed to Southern Miss

Posted by JAMES JONES on October 1, 2013

Hinds Community College offensive lineman Thomas Collins has verbally committed to Southern Miss.

Louisiana-Lafayette, Troy and South Florida were among the schools interested in Collins, but the Golden Eagles were the only school to offer him.

"I told myself that if my best opportunity to better myself was to leave Mississippi that I was fine with that. But, I'm really glad this opportunity came for me to stay close to home,"
Collins told BigGoldnation.com.

The 6-foot-5, 320-pound Collins will play either guard or tackle at Southern Miss and will sign in December.
