Mack Foster headed to Louisiana-Monroe

Posted by JAMES JONES on September 19, 2013

East Mississippi Community College guard Mack Foster has verbally committed to play basketball at Louisiana-Monroe.

The 6-foot-1 Foster averaged only eight points a game last season, but figures to make an impact with the Warhawks next year.

Foster chose ULM over Troy. He's expected to sign during the NCAA Fall Signing Period, which starts Nov. 13.

"He was very excited after his visit and really liked the people and atmosphere," East Mississippi Assistant coach Shelby Lindley told Warhawkreport.com. "He said that the school was a really good fit for him. It's close to his home (Beulah, Miss.), about two and a half hours away and the facilities.

"(Assistant Coach Ryan) Cross has been recruiting Mack since last year and they really developed a good relationship. I think that relationship really is what the difference was. The former assistant here went to Troy and was keeping up with Mack."
