Gautier to be without top back against Ocean Springs

Posted by PATRICK MAGEE on September 10, 2013

— The Gautier football team will again be without senior starting running back Lajuan Johnson on Friday against Ocean Springs because of a foot injury.

Gautier coach Chris Peterson hoped Johnson would use the last week's bye to get healthy, but the speedy back is still wearing a cast on his foot because of a torn tendon. Johnson also missed the victory over Moss Point two weeks ago.

Junior Jamarcus Carson will likely pick up most of the carries in Johnson's absence after rushing 10 times for 130 yards against Moss Point.

Gautier sits as 1-1 as it prepares to host Ocean Springs at 7 p.m. Friday.
