USM's Davis signs pro deal in Spain

Posted by PATRICK MAGEE on August 6, 2013

Former Southern Miss basketball star Dwayne Davis has signed a one-year deal with Murcia in Spain's top professional league, USM announced Tuesday.

Davis went unselected in the NBA Draft and was part of the Golden State Warriors' summer league squad.

The 6-foot-5 Davis is likely a good fit for European basketball with a good basketball IQ and a nice outside shot.

Davis, a Philadelphia, Pa., native, led USM with an average of 16.0 points per game in his one year in Hattiesburg.
