Pair of East Central baseball stars make State Games team

A pair of East Central baseball standouts have been selected as part of the District Eight All-Stars that will compete in the State Games of Mississippi at Meridian Community College this week

Left-handed pitcher Konnor Pilkington and right-hander Eric Saksa were both standout pitchers for the Hornets as sophomores this this past season.

Pilkington went 6-3 with a 2.73 ERA while Saksa went 3-0 with a 1.35 ERA. At the plate, Pilkington hit .296 and Saksa batted .267.

The District 8 team is coached by Neil Walther and Jeremy Cothran from Pearl River Central and Cayne Stockstill from Picayune.
