Top 10 Moss Point students treated to lunch

May 21, 2013

Moss Point School District Superintendent Maggie Griffin treated 10 Moss Point High School seniors to lunch at Tugus Restaurant in Moss Point and the group arrived by limousine Tuesday morning.

Sarah Glenn, Taneisha Hixon, Bradley Howard, Brianna Mitchell, DeArra Wells, Courtney Johnson, Elishea Cunningham, Treniqua Green, Mika Poppenhouse and Keaira Hyde had the 10 highest grade point averages in this year’s senior class and Griffin was pleased to show them appreciation.

“It gives us a special time to celebrate their achievements and hard work,” Griffin said. “It rewards them for four years of hard work because their GPA is not just based on one single year, but an accumulation of those four years.”

The group, dressed in their “Top 10 Tiger” T-shirts were excited about the honor.

“Hard work pays off,” Johnson said.

The limo ride was donated by Unity Funeral Services.

Moss Point High School’s graduation ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Friday night at Dantzler Stadium in Moss Point.
