Moss Point's Booker named Gatorade Player of the Year

Moss Point junior guard Devin Booker was announced today as the Mississippi Gatorade Player of Year.

The 6-foot-5 Booker is considered one of the better juniors in the nation following a season when he averaged 29.7 points, eight rebounds and four assists per game this season for the Tigers (12-16).

Booker, the Sun Herald Player of the Year, is being recruited by nearly every prominent program in the nation and recently received scholarship offers from Duke and North Carolina.

Also pursuing Booker are Stanford, LSU, Mississippi State, Michigan, Michigan State and Florida.
