Jackson Prep's Ryan Buchanan may have a chance to win Ole Miss' backup quarterback role in the fall.

Barry Brunnetti and Makhali Miller, who are battling to backup starter and Conerly Winner Bo Wallace, have struggled at the start of spring drills. He's out of spring drills and recovering from surgery.

Buchanan could enter the fray and see playing time as a true freshman, although Rebels coach High Freeze would prefer to redshirt him.
