Guard led Meridian to 6A South state tournament

Meridian guard Torloft Thomas hopes tonight's Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Basketball game will lead to big scholarship offers.

The Clarion Ledger reported that New Orleans, Western Kentucky and Wichita State are the only schools to offer Thomas, but LSU, Missouri, Mississippi State and Auburn are interested.

The 6-foot-3 Thomas averaged 16 points, five rebounds and five assists a game for the Wildcats (22-7).
