Moss Point taking on library repairs

Tomorrow will be another busy night for East Jackson County cities.

I'll be attending the Board of Aldermen meeting in Moss Point at 6 and the City Council meeting in Gautier shortly after.

The Gautier City Council meeting will begin at 6:30 at City Hall. The city could approve a $3 million bond from Mississippi Development Bank to use for the clear water filtration system.

Also on the table is the discussion of a two percent tax levy on hotels and prepared food that will used for enhancing parks and recreation.

Gautier Mayor Tommy Fortenberry said at his state of the city address in January that he hopes this legislation will be on the June ballot.

Moss Point will discuss the use of Moss Point Redevelopment Authority funds to repair the roof at the post office. They will also decide whether or not to use funds in the Moss Point Library Project to repair a roof at the Moss Point Library, so a lot of “overhead” business will be happening.

Check back at Tuesday night for the update.
