— The Southern Miss basketball team whipped East Carolina, 88-69, tonight behind an amazing 3-point performance by guard Neil Watson.

The junior hit all seven of his 3-point attempts to set USM and Conference USA records for most 3-point tries without a miss.

Watson, who had no idea he was on pace for a record, ended the night with 26 points.

"You get that extra boost of adrenaline when I make that third or fourth one and I haven't missed," Watson said. "But I don't hunt for shots or try to force any shots because we a phenomenal team and we have guys that can create."

Jonathan Mills also had a standout night with 15 points and a career-high 17 rebounds. He always seems to absolutely kill East Carolina.

In his last four games against ECU, Mills is averaging 14.5 points and 10.2 rebounds.

Dwayne Davis added 17 points, 14 in the second half, and Daveon Boardingham had 12 points.

USM (22-7, 11-3) sits at No. 36 in RPI following the victory according to WarrenNolan.com.

The Eagles earned the No. 2 seed in the Conference Tournament with the win.
