transfers from Long Beach to Gulfport

— Quarterback Thad Miller hopes a transfer from Long Beach to Gulfport will land him a college scholarship.

During the last two years with the Bearcats, an injury has prematurely ended Miller's season. He broke his collarbone in 2011 and had an injured shoulder last year.

At 6-foot-2, Miller has the size and arm strength to play Division I football. He has an invitation to Louisiana-Lafayette's junior day on March 23, according to Magnoliapreps.com.

Miller is the cousin of Gulfport basketball coach Owen Miller.
