RB Chris Ivory active vs. San Diego

Posted by GARY ESTWICK on October 7, 2012

RB Chris Ivory is active for tonight's Saints game against San Diego. This marks his first potential game action of the 2012 season. Ivory has been inactive for the previous four games.

With the trio of Pierre Thomas, Darren Sproles and Mark Ingram, the Saints have failed to offer a rushing game to compliment Drew Brees' arm. Perhaps Ivory can add a spark to the running game. After all, he offers a touch of power, speed and finesse.

San Diego won't make it easy. Its defense ranks fifth against the run this season, allowing just 79.2 yards per game.

The Saints running game is averaging 80.8 yards a game, ranked 27th in the NFL.

Saints inactives include: WR Lance Moore, RB Travaris Cadet, LB Jonathan Casillas and David Hawthorne, DTs Tyrunn Walker and Turk McBride and T Bryce Harris
