Crennel says Saints look the same with/without Payton

Sure, we're still four days away from Sunday's Saints/Chiefs game at the Superdome... But for the Chiefs, this certainly isn't a good start to the week - according to the Kansas City Star, the Chiefs opted to spend Wednesday's practice out of pads because of their numerous injuries.

We'll have an update for you later today about Saints injuries. Near the top of the list will be an update on WR Devery Henderson, who missed the Carolina game (concussion).

Also this morning, Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel, talking to New Orleans-area media, said the Saints look about the same with and without suspended head coach Sean Payton.

"I look at the players and the personnel and they are running the same plays," Crennel said. "Drew (Brees) is still the quarterback and he gets rid of the ball. You know the guys that he likes and he likes the playmakers in (Darren) Sproles and (Jimmy) Graham. You know the ball is going to those guys. I am not saying they look different, but anytime you lose your leader, that has an impact."

More Crennel: "No, Drew is a professional. He is a legitimate quarterback. He knows how to play the game. He knows what needs to be done. He can operate with whoever is calling the plays."

Question: If Crennel does see a difference, would he admit it?
