Rookie receiver Nick Toon, whom the Saints placed on injured reserve, will likely have foot surgery, intermim coach Aaron Kromer said during Monday afternoon's press conference.

Toon missed nearly the entire preseason with the injury. He played in Thursday's preseason finale at Tennessee, catching two passes for six yards.

Toon, a fourth-round selection in the 2012 NFL Draft, is the son of former New York Jets receiver Al Toon.

Kromer did not say when or if Toon will have the surgery.

Lucky for the Saints, their receiving corps enter Sunday's regular-season opener against Washington in great shape, with no other major injuries.
