NFL suspends Jonathan Vilma for season

Three others also suspended for some games

New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma has been suspended for the 2012-13 season, the NFL announced today.

Vilma's suspension begins immediately.

The NFL also said Anthony Hargrove will sit out eight games, Will Smith four games and Scott Fujita three games for their participation in the bounty program.

Hargrove is now playing with the Green Bay Packers, Fujita is with the Cleveland Browns.

All suspensions are to be without pay.
