Two people died in a one-vehicle accident in George County today, authorities said.

Killed were 15-year-old Jordan P. Cooper and 32-year-old Richard A. Lee, both of Lucedale, said Mississippi Highway Patrol Master Sgt. Johnny Poulos.

Two other Lucedale men in the vehicle were hospitalized at University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile.

Benjamin Brewer, 35, is in stable condition, and Kevin Ferguson, 24, remains in critical condition, Poulos said.

The four were eastbound on U.S. 98 about 5 p.m., a half-mile west of Mississippi 63, when the Jeep Cherokee left the right side of the road. The driver over-corrected and came back onto U.S. 98, then rolled several times before stopping in the median on the left side of the road, Poulos said.

None of the men was wearing a seat belt and Cooper and Lee were ejected from the vehicle, Poulos said.

Troopers have not determined who was driving, he said.

The accident remains under investigation.
