Child injured in Waveland house fire (Updated 10:30 a.m.)

— A child was taken to the hospital Wednesday morning after being found inside a burning house on Rue De LaSalle in Waveland.

Police Chief Kenny Hurt said three people got out of the house, but a child was still inside when firefighters arrived shortly after the call came in at 8 a.m.

The child was taken by AMR to Hancock Medical Center. That person's condition is not available.

Fire Chief Mike Smith said the state fire marshal is on his way to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
