COURTESY HANCOCK COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT/SUN HERALD Kiln resident Virginia M. Hill, 37, has been booked at the Hancock County jail on one count of murder.

A woman questioned this morning about the shooting death of a Kiln man has been charged with his murder, officials said.

Virginia M. Hill, 37, of Kiln, is in Hancock County jail without bond, said Chief Investigator Glenn Grannan.

Hill went to a neighbors house with an assault rifle to call 911 shortly after 3 p.m. The neighbor dialed the phone and gave it to Hill.

The victim, who has not been identified pending notification of next of kin, was apparently shot once in the head and was found in bed under the covers, he said.

He is in his late 30s and may have lived at the mobile home in the 4200 block of Orchid Street with the suspect, Grannan said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department at 466-6900.
