Jackson County Democratic caucuses

Posted on February 16, 2012

Jackson County Democrats will gather throughout the county on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 10 A.M. to elect delegates to the Jackson County Democratic convention to be held March 10 and to find out about 2012 candidates and campaign activities. Young Democrats are welcome and encouraged to get involved. Members of the county executive committee come from the convention attendees.

At each caucus, Democrats will elect candidates to the county convention, with the number allocated by votes in the precinct for Johnny Dupree, the Democratic gubernatorial candidate in the 2011 election. Those delegates will go to the 4th Congressional District Convention and the state convention. Delegates to the national convention to be held in Charlotte, NC, are selected from those attending the CD convention and the state convention.

Interested Democrats should attend the caucus at the designated site for their voting precinct. Those unable to attend should contact chair, Kay Sims at (762-9121 or by mail to P.O. Box 38, Pascagoula, MS 39567, or email to msdemfem@gmail.com
