GULFPORT - The drawbridge on Cowan-Lorraine Road is back open after being stuck for over three hours Tuesday night.

Police at 6:30 p.m. said the southbound portion has dropped down but was not locked and was only open to emergency vehicles.

Police placed electronic signs near the area and warned motorists to use alternate routes.

The drawbridge became stuck about 4:45 p.m.

Police Lt. Phillip Kincaid said a work crew was called in from New Orleans. Gage Faggard of the Mississippi Department of Transportation said it appeared to be a computer problem.
