A man wanted in Harris County, Texas, on sex-crime charges in an alleged relationship involving a student has been arrested in Pascagoula.

Pascagoula police took Ajay Kumar Mangal, 24, into custody without incident Tuesday afternoon at his family's business on Chicot Road, police Lt. James DeShannon Massey said this morning.

Mangal faces charges of improper relationship between an educator and student, and sexual assault of a child.

Authorities believe Mangal had been in the area about two months. He was arrested on two outstanding warrants.

Massey said Mangal has waived extradition and will be picked up in a few days by Texas authorities.
