ST. MARTIN -- Scott Litke was an outgoing, fun-loving guy, “just one of those people you meet who make you laugh,” his twin sister, Sonia Hill, said.

Litke loved sports -- he’d played baseball and football at St. Martin High -- and loved to hunt. He also loved dogs, particularly Brutus, the golden retriever who was always at his side.

“He took Brutus everywhere,” Hill said. “When he went to pay bills, the dog went with him. When he went to the bank, the dog went with him. He’s like his kid.”

Scott Litke, 50, died Jan. 17 at his hunting camp, with Brutus by his side, after a brief illness.

Litke had worked offshore, and as a truck driver and installing office furniture and equipment.

He liked any job where he got to meet people, his sister said.

“He would do anything for anybody,” Hill said. “He had lots of friends, was very outgoing. He would always call and check on everybody. We’ve always been really close. It’s like the other half of your heart being lost.”

Litke is also survived by his parents, Jack and Phyllis Litke of St. Martin, three brothers, two daughters, six grandkids and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is today at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Pass Road in Biloxi.
