BILOXI -- With his girlfriend and 2½-month-old baby looking on, John Dolan of Biloxi laid down the winning hand in the final table of Beau Rivage’s Million Dollar Heater Regional Poker Tournament. He walked away with $336,105 in cash, the trophy and bracelet.

The final table started at 2 p.m. Wednesday. It came to an exciting end for the hometown poker player about 11 p.m. Dolan came to the final table as the chip leader and faced World Poker Tour champion Randal Flowers, World Series of Poker bracelet winner Ryan Welch and Lock Poker Pro Matt Stout. Online-poker pro Glenn Poole of Olive Branch finished second, his first big live score, winning $185,367.

The Million Dollar Heater at the Beau Rivage had 6,000 players in 33 preliminary events and multiple satellite tournaments. It awarded more than $1.7 million in prize money and main event entries.

Many of the entries were high-profile tournament players from the South. Recent major tournament winners who played were WPT champions Jonathan Little and Joe Tehan, and last year’s Beau Rivage Southern Poker champion, Alexander Kuzmin.
