PASCAGOULA — Police are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was killed Wednesday while walking across Chicot Street in Pascagoula.

Charles McGee, 58, of Gautier, was killed when he was hit by a 2010 Nissan Murano that was traveling north on Chicot, Lt. John Ledbetter said. The accident happened just before 6 p.m. near Ingalls Avenue.

McGee was taken to Singing River Hospital but died a short time later.

Police have not identified the driver while the incident is under investigation.
