Former Casino Magic property added to blighted buildings list

— The former Casino Magic property has been added to the list of blighted buildings in Biloxi, it was announced at today's City Council meeting.

Community Development Director Jerry Creel said today that the special leglslation that allows the city to go after the owners of properties damaged by Hurricane Katrina doesn't apply to the Ceasars Entertainment casino property south of U.S. 90 that was never completed because construction on that property began after the 2005 hurricane struck.

The Casino Magic property was built prior to the storm.
