In his stunning victory -- more than 60 percent -- incumbent Democratic AG Jim Hood beat Republican challenger Steve Simpson in Simpson's backyard, the Coast.
Unofficial results show Hood carried Harrison County 20,506 to Simpson's 18,218. In Jackson County Hood won 16,978 to Simpson 15,347. Simpson narrowly carried Hancock County, 6,088 to 5,877.
