Man charged with stabbing stepmother

— Sheriff's deputies have arrested a George County man on a felony charge of aggravated assault in connection with the stabbing his stepmother, Sheriff Mike Byrd said this morning.

Brandon Charles Cochran, 19, was taken into custody after deputies received a 911 call reporting his whereabouts in the Harleston community this morning. He was picked just south of the George County line.

Cochran is accused of slitting his stepmother's throat.
