— One man remains hospitalized after being stabbed at a Waveland restaurant late Wednesday night, officials said.

Thonchai Chittrakul and Waraphon Chittrakul, a husband and wife from Waveland, were taken to Hancock Medical Center from the Sakura Thai Restaurant on U.S. 90 shortly after 10 p.m., Investigator Matt Carver said.

Thonchai Chittrakul, 52, had been stabbed numerous times and is in stable condition in intensive care this morning following surgery Wednesday, Carver said. Waraphon Chittrakul, 40, was treated for stab wounds and released.

Sekson Limsakul, 39, also of Waveland, was arrested at the scene. His bond was set at $200,000, Carver said.

The suspect and his wife are partners in the business with the victims. It is not known what prompted the stabbings, he said.

The restaurant opened late last month.

“This is a bizarre incident; we are still trying to figure out what went on here. But this is a perfect example of the cooperation between Waveland Police and the Sheriff’s Department,” Chief Investigator Kenny Hurt said.
