— Gulfport Police have closed one lane in each direction between Courthouse and Tegarden roads because of flooding in that section of U.S. 90.

A community service vehicle is parked in the road to alert motorists to the standing water.

The officer on duty there said he has seen one minor accident. Drivers are advised to take caution when there is water on the roadways.

Also, the National Weather Service in New Orleans issued a flood warning for the Wolf River above Gulfport in Harrison County.

That advisory was just issued and is added to the flash flood warning for southwestern portions of Harrison County until 10 a.m.

An update from the state Department of Transportation advises that Highway 90 in Pass Christian is closed from East Scenic Drive to Pass Christian Harbor.

This area has received several inches of rain since midnight and some roads do have water on them. Motorists are asked to use caution.

The bad weather also has caused power outtages in some areas of South Mississippi.
