Southern Mississippi will play in the Atlanta Regional on Friday as the No. 2 seed, while Mississippi State enters the same tournament bracket as the No. 3 seed, the NCAA announced today.
Southern and State will face each other in the first game of that regional. Game time has not been announced.
The Atlanta Regional was the route by which USM earned its first berth in the NCAA College World Series two years ago.
