Long Beach man gets 15 years for child porn

A Coast man is going to jail after pleading guilty to one charge of possession of child pornography, Attorney General Jim Hood said Tuesday in a press release.

Samuel Paul Fletcher, age 43 of Long Beach, appeared in Harrison County Circuit Court before Judge Lawrence Bourgeois Jr. on Monday.

Judge Bourgeois sentenced Fletcher to serve 15 years with 10 suspended, five to serve. Fletcher was also given five years probation and must register as a sex offender. Additionally, he must pay a $2,000 fine and another $200 to the crime victim compensation fund.

This case was investigated by the Attorney General's Cyber Crime Unit and prosecuted by Special Assistant Attorneys General Brandon Ogburn and Tina Herron.
