One dead, several injured in I-10 crash

— A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 at 3:11 a.m. today killed a Long Beach woman and injured several others.

Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove identified the woman as Lauren Young, 21, who died at the scene.

Morgan Moss of Houston, who was driving the vehicle Young was in, was taken to Memorial Hospital at Gulfport. Hargrove said his condition is critical.

Hargrove said the crash involved four vehicles and an 18-wheeler that were eastbound when the crash occurred near the 34-A mile marker offramp.

Several others were injured. Hargrove said they were taken to area hospitals, treated and released.

Gulfport Police are investigating the cause.
