An Aug. 22 trial date has been set for capital murder suspect Timothy Nelson Evans in the Jan. 2, 2010, strangulation death of his landlady at her Kiln home.

Evans pleaded innocent Thursday.

Police found the body of Wenda Lafern Holling at her home after her family reported her missing Jan. 5, 2010. Evans was arrested a month later in Florida, and authorities said he admitted to the killing.

Evans had been a boarder at Holling’s home for about two years. Capital murder is a murder committed during the commission of another felony crime, in this case robbery.
