— The Biloxi City Council has voted unanimously today to approve the master plan for Margaritaville Casino and Restaurant in East Biloxi.

The Council completed the first reading of the ordinance for the master plan during this afternoon's meeting, then met again shortly afterward for a second reading and the vote.

The next step is to seek approval from the Gaming Commission, but Michael Cavanaugh, the attorney for the developer, said they are not on the February agenda. However, plans still call for the project to be completed and the Casino opened by New year's Eve of this year.
